We at North Ridge Elementary are committed to building a strong foundation for all children as we collaborate and foster learning, promoting student success and core values.
North Ridge Elementary was the 18th elementary school built by Birdville ISD. When the land for our school was donated to the district, the property was known as the North Ridge area of the cattle pasture. Therefore, our school was named North Ridge Elementary. Since longhorns grazed on our land before our school was built, the first members of our PTA chose our mascot to be the Longhorn. Our school colors are red, white and blue.
North Ridge Elementary opened in August of 1988. Dr. Don Williams served as the first principal of our school. In 1992-1993, our PTA won the Outstanding Parent and Teacher Association Award for the state of Texas. Our volunteer program remains a model for other schools and communities.
In 1999, North Ridge Elementary was selected as one of the highly prestigious Blue Ribbon Schools by the United States Department of Education. Our school continues to excel and rank in the top quarter of campuses in the state of Texas.
We honor the principals who have served North Ridge Elementary: Dr. Don Williams, Nancy Mull, Meryl Babcock, April Chiarelli, Allison Cobb and Deborah Coulson.
In August, we host a "Meet the Teacher" night. Students bring their school supplies to their classrooms and meet their new teacher for the year.
Our Longhorn Stampede Run is our one and only school fundraiser. Students are challenged to raise money to support their school.
PTA hosts an Idea Explosion Day in February. Members of our community volunteer time to share their trades and talents with our students.
Our 5th grade students go on a yearly field trip to Camp Grady Spruce.
We honor Veterans on Veterans Day each year.
We are all excited when Nana Puddin comes to present a yearly program in December to our students. He motivates us all to become better people!
We have a yearly holiday sing a long where all the students join in with our school choir.
Each year our PTA provides an opportunity for students to shop for their family members in our Holiday Store and eat pancakes with Santa.
Each year our students participate in an end of the year Field Day.
We have many clubs and programs for our students to participate in after-school.
At the end of the year, we celebrate with our 5th grade students as they take their graduation walk down our hallways as we all cheer and show our support as they move on to middle school.
Welcome to the North Ridge Elementary PTA. We are very proud of our dedicated volunteers who make up our PTA. Our PTA is recognized yearly for their wonderful dedication and commitment to our school.

Title I, Part A is the largest federal assistance program for schools. Title I helps students receive a fair, equal, and high-quality education by providing additional funding to support student success. In order to receive these funds, our district and campus must create a plan for refining our educational offerings and involving families in their students' education.
Goals of Title I include:
Improved student performance and well-being
Increased family engagement in their child's education
Better two-way communication between families and schools
As a parent or guardian, you are an important part of our Title I team. We would like to invite you to:
Attend our school's annual Title I meeting
Learn about your rights and responsibilities
Assess whether our Title I offerings meet your child's needs, and offer suggestions for improvement as needed
